For this collection we have partnered with a small boutique factory in Florence, Italy. It felt only right that our first professional business bags should be made in a place which is synonymous with quality, passion, care, innovation, and excellence.
We consciously design timeless pieces, which transcend the seasons. We want you to enjoy your satchel or laptop bag for as long as possible and by making seasonless styles, we support the movement against fast fashion. This slow fashion approach also aims to reduce waste and reduce our use of the planet’s natural resources.
Made-to-order aligns perfectly with our desire to provide the most sustainable and luxurious products. Aside from reducing waste, we can produce smaller runs of limited pieces for customers who appreciate unique items and value quality over quantity.
Once you order your bag, we will make it and it will be delivered to you 6-8 weeks afterwards.
Our men’s bags are made with Apple leather or AppleSkin™, a lower impact alternative to animal leather which is made, in part, from waste material from the apple industry. The material is made in Italy, which is another reason why we have chosen an Italian producer for these bags. Having the materials and manufacturing so close together keeps our carbon footprint low.
About Apple LeatherItaly is one of the top five global apple producers. A proportion of their crop is grown for the food and beverage industry. When apples are pressed for their juice, the peels and solids are left over. This is called pomace. Not only is it too good to waste, but pomace has a high cellulose content, making it perfect for up-cycling into new fabrics.
The recovered apple waste originates in Bolzano in northern Italy. After being reduced to a powder, it is sent to a factory in Florence, where it is combined with polyurethane to make a soft, but durable material which looks and feels like the finest animal leather.
AppleSkin™ is made using 26% apple waste and 38% polyurethane. Integral to it's longevity and durability is the backing fabric which is made with 20% polyester and 16% cotton. The combination of bio-based and natural materials delivers a fabric which has up to 3x lower impact than animal leather, whilst being soft, strong and durable. Read our dedicated article on

A vegan bag is any bag, satchel, handbag, laptop bag or pouch which has been made without animal derived components. For a bag to be vegan, all the materials and processes must be totally animal free. This prohibits the use of materials such leather, fur, wool and feathers. The processes must also be cruelty free and without animal testing.
Are vegan bags good quality?
For decades cheap vegan materials dominated the fashion industry. Materials made wholly from fossil fuels, such as PVC and PU formed the basis of vegan clothing and accessories, but today, textile innovations are cleaner and far more superior.

Apple Leather is an excellent water-resistant fabric that can easily be wiped without any damage to the material. There is no need to use any chemicals and we strongly advise against using any solvents or bleaches. It is also not recommended to submerge the fabric in water.
As with any other material, you are advised not to store your bag in direct sunlight as this could cause discolouration.
Weight limits: Laptop bags and satchels are designed to hold a sensible number of items. Overloading your bag may cause premature wear and tear.
