At Watson & Wolfe, transparency isn’t a trend, it’s our practice. We choose to work only with suppliers who share our standards for ethics, quality, and environmental responsibility. Below, you'll find the origins of the core materials we use and why we choose them.
Corn-Based Leather
[Rome, Italy]
Developed through years of research, our Italian-made corn leather strikes a balance between high performance and a lower environmental impact. It is produced using renewable solar energy, with all facilities powered by rooftop generators and low-energy systems. The manufacturer continues to lead innovation in solvent-free and bio-based alternatives.
> 100% powered by rooftop solar generators > Saves 1,023,990 kg of CO₂ annually through clean energy > Uses only low-impact LED lighting > Active R&D in sustainable leather alternatives > Working toward 100% solvent-free and 80% bio-content linings
Corn Source
[North America]
The plant-based content in our corn leather comes from yellow dent field corn—a non-food crop grown across North America. As a feedstock for ethanol and industrial goods, it’s widely available and helps us avoid petroleum-based inputs. Using it significantly reduces the CO₂ impact of our material sourcing.
> Grown on over 99% of North American corn fields > Not used for food, it supports circular, non-edible supply chains > Lower carbon footprint than fossil fuel-based inputs > Supports renewable and bio-based material sourcing
Recycled PET Lining
[Bursa, Turkiye]
Our recycled PET linings are now produced just 160 km from our factory, down from over 7,800 km when we initially began sourcing in Taiwan. The mill is family-run and GOTS, OEKO-TEX 100, and BCI certified. They specialise in sustainable yarns and dyeing processes that use 60% less water and less energy than conventional systems.
> Certified by GOTS, OEKO-TEX 100, and Better Cotton Initiative > Dyeing processes use 60% less water > Low-energy production systems reduce gas and electricity use > Utilises advanced sustainable yarns like TENCEL® and LENZING® > Ethical sourcing with strict supply chain due diligence
Ethical Manufacturing
[Istanbul, Turkiye]
Our manufacturing partner is a small, owner-managed team with decades of experience in luxury production. The workshop supports fair wages, excellent working conditions, and nurtures skills through ethical employment and craftsmanship.
> Small workshop led by its founder > Fair wages with full compliance with benefits and taxes > Traditional leathercraft skills preserved and respected > Excellent working conditions with a family-like ethos
[Pontinha, Portugal]
Our cork accessories are handcrafted by a Portuguese manufacturer, combining traditional techniques with innovative design. Cork is one of the most sustainable materials available, 100% natural, renewable, and harvested without harming trees. The workshop specialises in turning this low-impact raw material into refined, vegan-certified pieces.
> Uses cork from responsibly managed forests in Portugal > Handmade by skilled artisans using both traditional and modern methods > Naturally renewable and biodegradable material > PETA-Approved Vegan certified for cruelty-free production > Each piece has character, thanks to cork’s natural variation in tone and texture
